Stream these 4 movies on Hulu with your mom on Mother’s Day

Ask a mom what she wants most for Mother’s Day, and she’ll probably say “more time with my kids.” This year, give Mom what she wants by planning a night of video streaming and snacks for just the two of you – no other kids, no phones and no distractions. If your mom is the type to say “we can watch whatever you want,” then that means it’s time to come prepared. Luckily, there is an abundance of Mother’s Day-appropriate movies available to stream on Hulu, and we’ve rounded up our favorites.

Our favorite Hulu films to stream with your mom

Whether you and your mom are into comedies, tearjerkers or romance, we’ve got something for everyone on this list.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

If you come from a big, loud family, this one’s for you. Complete with romance, fun, and a bunch of relatives being all up in each other’s business, this love story will make you feel all the feels. Plus, you’ll discover a multitude of unexpected uses for Windex! Mom might have already seen this one – it’s a classic for a reason! – and she’ll likely be delighted to share it with you.

Terms of Endearment

Aurora Greenway and her daughter, Emma, have a strong, but complicated bond – likely a relatable sentiment for many moms and kids. Through Emma’s marriage, separation, and diagnosis with terminal cancer, Aurora is tested in ways she never expected, and their mother-daughter relationship changes drastically as a result. Have plenty of tissues on hand because this one is a real tear-jerker.

Steel Magnolias

This story follows the friendships between a group of strong Southern women as they navigate life and love over the course of years. As time passes, the women encounter tragedy and good fortune, growing stronger and closer in the process. A star-studded cast, with powerhouse performances, makes this a must-see movie for women of all ages. If your mom hasn’t seen this one yet, she should!

The Blind Side

This film, based on a true story, follows Michael Oher, a homeless Black teen who has drifted in and out of the school system for years. Leigh Anne Tuohy and her husband, Sean, take Michael in, become his legal guardians, and end up transforming both his life and theirs. Michael’s tremendous size and protective instincts make him a formidable force on the gridiron, and with help from his new family and devoted tutor, he realizes his potential as a student and football player. For an inspiring and uplifting flick, look no farther than this one.

Other Mother’s Day movies we love

If your mom doesn’t have Hulu (perfect time to Buy Now , by the way!), don’t worry – there are plenty of movies hosted on other streaming services you can share with your mom.

Netflix: Otherhood

Feeling forgotten on Mother’s Day, three best friends drive from the suburbs to New York City to reconnect with their adult sons. A great choice for sons to watch with their moms.

Amazon: Stepmom

There’s no way this movie won’t leave you—and your mom—in happy tears. The story centers around a mom and stepmother as they navigate divorce, parenting, an engagement, a cancer diagnosis, and the ups and downs of blended families.

Disney+: The Parent Trap

This 1998 version of a 1961 classic stars a young Lindsay Lohan—times two. In this fun flick, two girls (both played by Lohan) who were separated when their parents got divorced reunite and trick their parents into thinking they are each other. This is a great movie for moms with young kids to watch together.

There’s nothing better than a Mother’s Day movie night. You pick the time and place — and if Mom is not nearby, organize a virtual ‘watch’ party and see the movie together – make a few homemade snacks, pop some popcorn, open a bottle of your favorite wine, and get ready to enjoy some quality time with Mom.
