As always, expect mattresses to be reduced heavily by all the major companies. As well as that, more general retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are likely to cut prices on a wide range of products including own branded furniture and some stylish branded names too. Whether you’re looking for a new sofa or loveseat, or for some new home office furniture, there’s likely to be an offer on here.

Garden and outdoor furniture should also be discounted but it’s worth bearing in mind that these will be in high demand given the time of year so you’ll need to be quick.

Keep an eye on retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Wayfair for the best offers here.

What Memorial Day furniture sales and deals we saw last year

Memorial Day 2020 had a little bit of everything on offer. We saw Wayfair have up to 70% on much of its Memorial Day furniture sales along with companies like Lowe’s reducing patio furniture and outdoor decor by up to 30%.

Target also heavily reduced everything possible including patio sets, indoor furniture, and kitchen appliances, by up to 25%. Overstock also got in on the action with up to 20% off select mattresses and the same discount for patio furniture.

Whether you wanted branded items or a bargain, there were big discounts going on during the Memorial Day furniture sales.

Should you buy new furniture on Memorial Day?

Any sales season is a good time to consider a new purchase but only if you actually need the item in question. It’s easy to be lured into snapping up items simply because they’re discounted. Memorial Day furniture sales are good but only if you know what to look for.

Think about what your home needs. Does it need a new coffee table to truly make your living space look beautiful? Or maybe a new comfy couch to laze on in the evenings? Know what you need and prioritize them.

As always, stick to your budget. If you can’t afford the item, it won’t be good value for you and you’ll regret it. Similarly, do your research. If the item on offer is an unfamiliar brand, check that it’s a reliable piece of furniture. Don’t buy something that has poor reviews for falling apart, for instance.

With many items on sale during Memorial Day, not every price cut is going to be a bargain. Some are more incremental than the deal of the century so it’s vital you know a little about how genuine the saving is. Play it smart and don’t rush into anything simply because there’s a countdown timer trying to lure you into hitting the buy button.

Three-day weekends don’t happen often, and when they do, you might jump at the chance to complete a DIY redecorating project—which usually involves a paint job. Whether you’re wanting to coat the living room in a new shade or spruce up your exterior façade, you’ll find awesome paint deals at your favorite hardware store or sit during the Memorial Day weekend.
What Memorial Day Paint Deals to Expect
Memorial Day sales are a great chance to stop by Home Depot, where you can find their premium brands such as Behr, Glidden, and Olympic, or Lowes, which features brands like Valspar, HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams, and Zinsser. When you stop by the store, be sure to chat with a paint specialist who can tell you more about choosing the right shade for the project you have in mind. The type and quantity of paint you'll need for an outdoor paint job will differ from your interior paint needs, so be sure to do your research and math before heading to the store to take advantage of the best deals.

You can also find deep discounts on Memorial Day weekend at outlets like Sherwin Williams, Behr, and Benjamin Moore which also sell directly to the customers. Often, the direct-to-customer option sometimes carry the best deals on a holiday weekend especially if you purchase higher quantities. For example, a five-gallon bucket might be a better value than buying two one-gallon cans of paint.
What Memorial Day Paint Deals We Saw Last Year
Last year’s holiday weekend brought us some fantastic deals on paint and supplies. Home Depot offered a 30% discount, and we saw similar paint sales at Lowes, Menards, and True Value. These businesses also marked down both their supplies, like paint sprayers, tape, and drop cloths, and primer -- all things you'll need before you start your painting project.

Memorial Day -- and summer -- will be here before you know it. What better way to kick off the festivities (and the season) than by purchasing some new patio furniture to elevate your outdoor space? After the year we've all had, you deserve to have an oasis in your backyard.

Memorial Day sales usually involve furniture, and patio furniture of all kinds is no exception. We've scoured the internet for some of the best deals out there, so you can sit back, relax, and shop peacefully online knowing you're covered.
What Memorial Day Patio Deals to Expect
Amazing Memorial Day deals abound this year; sites like Wayfair, Amazon, Home Depot, and Target have deals ranging from 30-70% off this time of year, which means you can score big on outdoor furniture. Because people are shopping more and more online versus in-stores, retailers are offering bigger discounts online, which is good news for you. Think of everything from grills to loungers to fire pits, and everything in between.
What Memorial Day Patio Deals We Saw Last Year
We saw a lot of amazing deals on wicker patio furniture on Amazon last year, and the bonus is if you have Prime, it ships for free. If you want to build an outdoor theater in your backyard for summer, Memorial Day sales can also be found on electronics and weatherproof TVs. Plus, you'll be the envy of the neighborhood. If you're into camping in your backyard or were looking for folding chairs or hammocks, REI also had solid deals in 2020. Wayfair had great savings on grills and outdoor kitchen items, so they'll be one to watch this year.
Should You Buy New Patio Furniture on Memorial Day?
Absolutely! Because Memorial Day is synonymous with sales, now is the perfect time to compare prices and sales on multiple sites. Be sure to read the fine print because it can seem like a good deal, but there can be hidden shipping costs and no-return policies on items, so better to be safe than sorry. While fall is usually the best time to buy patio furniture because retailers are getting rid of that season's styles, Memorial Day sales will have discounted items aplenty. Plus, you get to put it to good use right away, which is part of the fun!
