Be a kid again: Adult beanbag chairs you can’t live without

We love all the comforts of adult beanbags

Being an adult doesn’t mean you have to forego all the comforts of childhood, and that includes furniture to relax in. Adult beanbag chairs are all the rage since the pandemic, where we work and play in the same space. They are a cozy spot to curl up and read a book, watch a movie, or take a little Sunday nap. There are different types of adult beanbag chairs, depending on what you plan to use them for, so here’s what to look out for and how to choose the best option for you.

What kind do you pick?

Both XXL and XXXL sizes are considered adult-sized beanbags. They should be between 4 and 5.5 pounds full of beans, respectively. Once you have the sizing down, it comes to texture, color, material, and support. If you’re planning to use your beanbag to work, you’ll want one with back support. Conversely, if you’re planning to use it entirely for lounging purposes, you won’t need to list body support as a top consideration.

Best adult beanbags

If you’re on the fence about how much you’ll use a beanbag, check out this Big Joe Milano beanbag on Amazon. It’s a small investment at under $50 and comes in a ton of colors. It’s also stain resistant and has good support. On the other end of the spectrum, if you’re looking for the beanbag to end all beanbags, check out the Lovesac SuperSac. Most options are over $1,000, but they are durable, washable, and luxurious.

If you’re looking for something right in the middle, check out the Yogibo Max 6-Foot Beanbag Chair on Amazon. At just under $300, it has a washable cover, comes in a ton of colors, and is perfectly cozy for gaming, watching TV, or reading. Finally, if you’re looking for much-needed back support, check out Moonpod, which says they “can help relieve back and neck pain while you rest.” These adult beanbags let you sit, recline, and sleep. They come in a variety of colors and at 12 pounds, they are one of the easiest to move around.

Adult beanbags are the perfect combination of functionality and style. You can toss them in a closet or storage room when you don’t need them, and the adult-sized ones are perfect for a couple of small kids or a teen looking to watch a movie with friends (but only if you want to share). As always, when you’re considering an investment, make sure you know what products work to clean them, that you can (if possible) buy one with a washable cover, and that you pick a style that supports what you’ll be using it for. The only thing left is to sit back, relax, and relive your childhood again.

Color Drenching: The bold hue movement that is sticking around in 2026
Green living room walls with velvet green sofas

What is color drenching?Color drenching is an interior design trend where a single color is used on every surface in a room. This includes walls, trim, doors, and even the ceiling, creating a cohesive and immersive atmosphere. The technique can make a small room feel larger or a spacious room feel cozier, and it often extends to furniture, radiators, and cabinetry for a bold, unified effect.

While the term color drenching is relatively new, the concept has deep roots in design history. The look can be traced to historic European interiors where monochromatic schemes added depth and luxury. Even in the Victorian era, richly saturated jewel tones were often used in grand spaces such as libraries and parlors. It reappeared during the 1960's and 1970's as well. Designers have long understood that a single, enveloping hue can create a striking sense of mood and continuity.
