After being gifted a beautiful set of crystal when I got married, I became one of those people who only bring out the “nice” stuff for special occasions. Sure, pieces can be replaced, and the memories made while using them will last forever, but you can never get back the time it takes to wash every piece by hand. That is exactly what keeps mine locked up in the china cabinet.

That is until now. The renowned, family-owned, Italian appliance brand SMEG just released its newest line of dishwashers, and it might change how I use (and wash) my glassware forever, right in time for the holiday season.

Why we love it

WinePro accessory

Allows delicate stemware to be washed with care, even on the bottom rack! The SMEG dishwasher comes with flexible tines that hold glassware securely in place. It also comes with a dedicated location for a decanter.

Multiload system

Designed for flexibility, this system adapts to large pots and pans, oversized bottles, and even oven trays. It also includes an added support rack for smaller, delicate items, like espresso cups.

Planetarium Wash System

A double motion spray arm with a spiralizing directional wash ensures water sprays and reaches every surface in a 360° sweep, ensuring your dishes come out sparkling.

DryAssist+

This energy-efficient feature enhances the drying performance by automatically opening the dishwasher door at the end of the cycle for a fresh, spot-free finish. It’s also a good sign to empty the dishwasher!

A Model for every kitchen

The collection includes seven different models, including an ADA-compliant option.

SMEG’s new dishwasher line, featuring the WinePro accessory, starts at $1399 and is available at major retailers and at smegusa.com.

Maybe it’s time to let those beautiful glasses out of hiding and toast to new technology that keeps up with your best stemware.

Whether you’ve just installed your favorite oak kitchen cabinets or you’ve decided on a stunning oak wood floor for your home, it can be difficult to find a modern color palette that looks seamless alongside these warm wood tones. While oak wood is stunning with traditional design, modernists who favor its classic appeal might find blending this tone with their existing palette frustrating.

Oak wood has a tendency to look outdated or overly traditional in a home's design. This happens for several reasons. For example, a dark or brown color palette makes oak look a bit drab in spaces where modernists prefer light or airy tones.
