Just had this for a few weeks but it’s holding up so far. Love its solid build, compact size and few moving parts or features that can go wrong and mess up the main purpose, like a lot of competitors have. Easy to clean and re-use. Basket paper filters fit most easily and snugly but the cone-type are fully functional as long as you don’t let folds in the filter bother you. I go for a large size cup so the capacity here tops out at two of those.

bought this Black and Decker coffee maker to replace a coffee maker that finally died on me after two years. This coffee maker does what it's supposed to. It makes coffee! It's simple, no fancy buttons or features, just a simple coffee maker. Which is what I wanted. It looks to be of good quality. It's not lightweight like many of the other coffee makers I was looking at. My old coffee maker was so cheap and lightweight that the whole coffee maker would move when I tried to push the "on" button on the machine. And that was when it was filled with water. I had to actually hold the coffee maker with one hand and push the button with the other to keep it from moving across the kitchen counter. This B&D machine is heavier and feels better quality than my old machine. The price is right too. So far it's holding up. I'm very satisfied with this Black and Decker coffee maker.

I drink one cup of caffinated coffee in the morning (I'm prone to kidney stones and doctor recommended no more than one caffinated drink a day). The rest of the day is decaf. I love my nice strong caffinated coffee I get from my Keurig. But decaf coffee in the Keurig, no matter the brand, has always been weak. I add decaf instant coffee to my cup to make it stronger. My husband and I tend to drink decaf throughout the day.

I bought this for us for decaf. And it works perfect. The coffee is as strong as I want it. Easy to use and keeps the coffee hot. There's only two small issues I have. 1) if I want to brew 8 cups, I put about 9 cups of water in it. Otherwise I get about 7 cups of coffee. So add a bit more water than you think. 2) no auto off feature. I have to remember to turn it off so I don't burn coffee in the carafe. Not a deal breaker. I would definitely buy this again.

Fast basic no frills coffee maker

I bought this to replace the famous brand with "Coffee" in its name because the start switch stopped working.
This Black& Decker is a much better basic functional decline. If have 10 other devices telling you what time it is and don't need an automatic start timer function, this is for you.
I don't like an automatic start function because I would have to leave my ground coffee in the filter overnight which would lose some of the aroma and allow the coffee to oxidize and lose some of its flavor.
What you will love about this coffee maker is its speed and lack of noise. Black & Decker brews a better-flavored coffee. This surprised me. I drink my coffee black it has a better flavor coming from the Black & Decker. I don't know how this is possible. Perhaps, because it brews faster?

Always been good brand, cost was reasonable & if you just want a basic no frills or bells good cup of coffee, I recommend this one. And actually, it takes up a lot less room which I’m happy about. The only disadvantage is there is no automatic turn off, which isn’t a problem for me, but could be for some who count on that feature.

I tried and returned (4/5 cup) coffee makers Amazon Basics, and Krups. And what a nuisance to have to box things back up and drive to the UPS dropoff, due to poor manufacturing standards/quality control!!
Amazon basics was too cheaply made of thin plastic, emitted a strong plastic smell when I ran clean water thru it, and had sharp edges on handle. Krup was better, but had a few sharp spots on handle, and a lid that required 2 hands to open. I was at first pleased with the B&D with all aspects, easy to fill, easy to clean, no strong plastic smell, solidly made - till this morning when I removed the pot and there was still water in the basket - and coffee flowed everywhere, no auto close as even the cheaper brands had, and, my previous coffee maker. so disappointed that this very basic feature wasn't incorporated by Black & Decker, and now I've used the coffee pot a few times, and cant return it, and will live with this for the next few years. Where is quality these days?

This is a old classic in the coffee maker world. Our Keurig shut down and we needed a replacement that was adorable but also durable because we drink a lot of coffee. For the price this is a very good product, however it is old school, so if your looking for a coffee pot that shuts itself off after a while or is able to be set for the next morning, I wouldn't recommend this one. If your looking for a right now coffee pot that you have to remember to shut off and does what it needs to do, this is your machine.
